Who We Are
The JV Family Foundation is committed to bridging the opportunity gap that exists across the education system.
At the JV Family Foundation, we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to reach their fullest potential regardless of the obstacles they face. From the beginning, our mission has been to uplift driven, talented young people who may not meet traditional academic criteria for support. Through our college scholarship program, we focus on those whose circumstances have impacted their grades but not their determination to succeed.
We support high school and college aged students who are navigating overwhelming life challenges that often hinder their academic progress. Our scholars come from a wide range of backgrounds: some are raised by single parents or are single parents themselves; others have experienced life in the foster care system or periods of homelessness. Some have survived abuse, and most come from families working tirelessly to overcome the weight of financial hardship. These students show remarkable resilience, and we are committed to helping them move forward and thrive.

The individuals who guide the actions of the organization are a diverse group of people, and with their support, the organization helps ensure that as many students as possible make it to and through college successfully.

Rising college costs and decreasing financial aid have made it harder than ever for students to pursue higher education. Each year, more young people turn to the JV Family Foundation for help. These are driven, deserving students who are ready to change their futures.
But the reality is, we can only assist a fraction of those who apply. That means too many promising students, future educators, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, social advocates, and community leaders are forced to put their dreams on hold simply because of financial barriers.
